The brainchild of Anthony Menicola, the Infinity Club is set to open later this month at 10 Edison Rd. in Mahwah, on the border with Wyckoff.
The upscale boutique fitness center aims to offer more personalized training and is only taking a limited number of memberships. Amenities include a red light sauna and a golf simulator.
"We don't want an overcrowded facility," Menicola, who lives five minutes from the facility, said. "We want to have more of a country club feel. It's going to be a really special place."
Living in Mahwah, Menicola said he had been eyeing the space for 10 years, and had told the owner he was interested. He was finally able to buy the building in April 2023 and has been working on converting it to a fitness center since then.
Menicola says Infinity Club will offer services other gyms in the area don't provide including a workout driven by A.I. that will guide users on how to best use a machine. Pansau Manly-Spain, the head of semi-private training at Infinity Club said the area desperately needed something like this.
"It's a space that when you walk in, you don't feel overwhelmed by there being a tremendous amount of people," Manly-Spain said. "We wanted to create something above and beyond what's out there. We are doing workouts that will last you a lifetime and keep your body healthy and joints safe."
Having been in fitness training for more than 20 years, Manly-Spain said he has always wanted a fitness center like this.
"I love my clientele and I want them to have the best of the best," Manly-Spain said. "We're not about doing random things, every detail aligns in what we believe is best for your fitness journey."
Manly-Spain said the other trainers have been blown away by the new space, and his clients are pumped to get started.
"It's very sexy, very clean and very beautiful," Manly-Spain said. "There's a real excitement in the area. We're not trying to compete with other gyms in the area, we have our own set of high standards.
"I can't wait to be in there, see what we can create and the people's lives we can change. It's not about counting calories and random exercises, people will feel they are really being looked after."
